Sri Lanka does not change. I could go away and come back 10 years later (good riddance, I know) and there would be the same old war, poverty, smelly rude people and bad drivers. Heck if I were to reincarnate and come back here in a hundred years, the only difference would be newer vehicles.

In a thousand years, when technology sufficiently advances, and we do take to the air for personal transport, even then, there will be smelly rude people jostling each other for space, trying to run each other over in the sky.. and of course, the good old war.

No matter how you look at it, all is not well at paradise isle. You don’t have to take my word for it: just read Electra’s post here about how she was caught, being female, and out at night, which as you know, is a crime under section something of the penal code, which clearly states that no females may be out after 8 PM unless accompanied by a male relative or something.

Well.. life goes on here. In day to day news, apparently sri lanka pulled out of the cease fire yesterday. Indi, as always, helpfully ruminates on this new development here.

Well.. that’s life. For those of you still here, may His Noodlyness have mercy on your poor souls.

RAmen

ps: happy new year to you all. I would wish you long life, but, the way things are here, that would be a curse.

In other news.. Hitachi has released a 500gb notebook drive. Just think of all the.. media.. you could store on that. You go, hit-achi!
